GRE Registration
The GRE registration fee is $115 in the United States and is $140 in any
other location.
Computer-Based Test Registration
There are three ways you can register for a
General Test.
Web
Phone

Use VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or
a voucher number.

Call the test center directly or the
Prometric Candidate Services Call Center Monday through Friday, 8am-8pm,
EST, (excluding holidays), at 1-800-GRE-CALL
(1-800-473-2255).

A confirmation number, reporting time, and
the test center address will be given to you when you call.

If you use a Telephone/Teletypewriter (ITY),
call 1-800-529-3590.
Mail
-
Complete the Authorization Voucher Request
Form found in the Bulletin.

Mail the appropriate payment and voucher
request form to the address printed on the voucher.

Allow up to 4 weeks for processing and
mail delivery.

When you receive your voucher, call to
schedule an appointment.

An appointment to test must be made prior
to the expiration date on the voucher.

If you lose your voucher, contact the GRE Program. Only
one replacement will be issued.
Paper-Based Test
Registration
Paper-based General Test administrations are
offered in areas of the world where computer-based testing is not
available. See
Test Centers.
To register for the paper-based General
Test, you must complete a registration form. There are 2 ways to register:

Online Registration (credit card only)
Online registration is not available for the following services.

Mail registration (credit card/money
order/certified check) — Complete the registration form found in the Bulletin and mail the
completed form with payment to be received at ETS by the registration
deadline in the envelope provided. Allow 4 weeks for processing.
Registration forms cannot be faxed.
